We moved from the Netherlands to Montenegro in 2019 with our blonde twin boys. As a medical doctor (Mirna) and a marine engineer and navy officer managing a shipyard (Peter), we were looking for a more relaxed and balanced life. After two major health scares—thankfully more than five years ago—our outlook on life changed completely. Our new motto became: “Wealth is about time, not money.”
Our journey in Montenegro began with what we love most: the outdoors and the sea. This passion inspired our family’s ventures. Nicholas runs Montenegro Water Tours, Alexander leads Montenegro Mountain Tours, and Peter continues his lifelong connection with the sea through Montenegro Yachting. Our own experiences renovating homes naturally evolved into Montenegro Real Estate. While that name was simple, it was also too generic and often confused with others. That’s why today, we proudly present our unified family brand: The Robert Collection, with real estate at its heart.
Through The Robert Collection, we share our deep affection for Montenegro and its way of life: slower mornings, longer breakfasts, and evenings spent watching the sun set over the bay. This philosophy guides everything we do in real estate—offering clear, honest advice and sometimes a gentle, “I would not go for this one.” At The Robert Collection, our aim is simple: to be honest and to create community. Most of our clients come from Western Europe and North America, and we love helping them discover life in Montenegro—the country we now call home.
